Spring 2015
We’re off to a running start for 2015, as we leap into spring. I’m proud of the accomplishments and successes we’re experiencing as our NACTA community grows.

We welcomed a new NACTA South East chapter in Louisiana, representing fifty-seven new members under the Chapter Director leadership of Robin Beard and Louise Rumfello. Attending their first meeting as a NACTA Chapter, in their Baton Rouge hometown, was particularly rewarding. They carefully vetted their decision to join NACTA because of the membership benefits and the variety of professional career travel consultants NACTA represents. Under the leadership of Eddie Woodham, NACTA SE Regional Director, five new Florida chapters have been formed. On the West Coast, it was a privilege to meet with Lynda Phillip, the new Greater Portland, Oregon, Chapter Director. Lynda is full of passion and creative ideas to help grow Oregon membership.

It was exhilarating to meet with fifty-one NACTA members during the ASTA Destination Expo in Marrakech, Morocco. The NACTA tradeshow booth buzzed with good conversation and positive chatter about NACTA Conference 2015, being held November 8 –12 in Kona, Hawaii, at the lovely Sheraton Resort & Spa. Almost 300 travel professionals are registered already, with registrations pouring in due to the intriguing Big Island destination, modestly priced pre and post FAMS, an air credit offer, and overall program content. At the conclusion of ASTA ADE, members gathered at the Four Season rooftop terrace bar, toasting one another as the sun set over Marrakech and sharing tour experiences, laughter, and Morocco memories.

Our next official gathering is in Nassau, Bahamas, at Sandal’s Grand Bahamian Resort & Spa, May 21 – 24. At this annual NACTA Chapter Director meeting we will network and discuss building strength, community, and membership within our chapters.

I’m proud of the many positive additions to NACTA, and of the hard work and leadership of NACTA staff, Chapter Directors, and Regional Directors. We’re fortunate to have a strong community of travel professionals looking out for one another and helping to grow our association.

Best regards,
